Threat prompts UI to close buildings

UI moving to ‘more aggressive stages of protection’

One day after UI officials evacuated Mayflower Residence Hall ahead of possible flooding, they announced Wednesday the closure of three arts buildings in response to more severe projections.

Students, staff and faculty will need to vacate Art Building West, the Museum of Art — which already is closed except for some School of Music operations — and the Theatre Building by 5 p.m. Friday. The buildings will remain closed until further notice. (For Video and more from Press-Citizen.com)
