Project Description: Flood Control America has produced a custom removable floodwall system for the World Trade Center in downtown Manhattan. As of 2022, FCA now has five segments of flood barriers at WTC. The wall, also known as the Bollard Protection System, now encloses nearly the entire World Trade Center property including Tower One (the Freedom Tower), the Vehicular Security Center (VSC) and the September 11th Memorial Pools.

Significant diagonal bracing was required to absorb potentially large impact loads that could occur during a major flood event.

The Bollard Protection System at World Trade Center utilizes the existing security bollards. Flood Control America fabricated custom posts to fit these bollards to adapt our removable flood wall to the conditions at Tower One. Projects at the VSC and Memorial use the same type of system.
